Since the start of our town in 1745, Frederick, MD captivates the history buffs from around the region. During the civil war era, the town was as a hospital for soldiers fighting at Monocracy, Antietam, and Gettysburg. Because the town was used as a hospital, they were saved from total destruction during the war. After the war the town focused on canning and textiles, which produced many jobs for those who stayed after the war. With this vibrant war history and revitalization of our town we now have a 40-block historic district that visitors love to pursue. From the National Museum of Civil War Medicine to Rose Hill Manor your family will experience what it was like to live during a different time period.

Today, Frederick is home to a vibrant art scene, and a community that is alive with culture. Go downtown to try all the fine cuisine. Restaurants like Cacique Restaurant, Crabapples New York Delicatessen deli, and many more are making unique dishes in the area. With all these special places to visit we made a community restaurant week in March to celebrate the hard-working folks in our town. There is always something to enjoy in Frederick, Maryland.
